It is with great pride that we share some news about where our wonderful seniors plan to be next year:
Kendra L. Bellamy will attend SUNY Purchase to study Studio Composition and Songwriting next fall. For the past two years, her independent work has focused on writing and producing songs and creating a music video.
Wyeth True Curtis will attend Lafayette College, where he plans to double major in engineering and economics. This spring he worked with stonemason Chris Gregory (www.cgregorystone.com). Last spring he traveled to Dresden with his German class.
GuoJin Rose Fernbacher will attend Loyola Marymount University next fall, where she plans to study business management. Her project this spring focused on searching for her birth parents in China. Last spring she traveled to Dresden with our German program.
Beatrice Ava Hayhurst will attend Washington University, St. Louis, where she will pursue a five-year masters in architecture at the Sam Fox School of Design. This spring, she was an intern for Alex Millar at Taylor and Miller Architecture, NYC. Last spring she traveled to Dresden with our German program.
Tosh Frances Weber Hearst plans to attend beauty school and make art. This spring she worked with beautician and artist Roxie Darling (roxiedarling.com) in Hudson, NY, and NYC. Last spring, Tosh made a mobile including highly decorated animal bones.
Elizabeth Kanz plans to study geology and chemistry at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, next year. This spring she worked in environmental science at BCC with Bruce Winn, researching and testing the health of local vernal pools. Last spring she traveled to Costa Rica with our Spanish program.
Kevin Krum will attend Berry College next year and plans to major in communications. For the past two years, he has interned with Jim Pernick of All In Sports (allinsportsbuffalo.com), Buffalo, NY, running baseball camps and baseball training.
Gabe Lassor will attend UMass, Amherst, and plans to major in Communications in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. This spring he worked in video content creation, editing, channel management, and live streaming. Last spring he traveled with our school group to Costa Rica.
Sedona MaCloud will attend Smith College where she plans to study sociology. This spring she worked at Oakview Farm, an organic vegetable, cattle, and poultry farm in Nova Scotia, where her mentor was Kevin Graham. Last year, she completed an internship in ASL and deaf culture.
Chloe Hannah Whyte plans to take a gap year during which she will travel and continue gardening with Nature Works Landcare. This spring she built an outdoor cob (earthen) oven with mentor Sarah Bassin. Last year she WWOOFed (Worldwide Opportunities in Organic Farming) at Little Chili Farm in Two Harbors, Minnesota.
