The Globe Ghost Story Contest and Winner
Ghost Story Winner
In the last issue, Autumn 2012, of The Globe, we ran a creative writing contest which was to complete a ghost story that had been started by high school student Evan Seitz. From the many submissions we received, we chose Lillian Harding’s. Her submission was visceral and dramatic. It drew us in and left a lasting impression. Lillian wins a $25 gift certificate at Williams & Sons Country Store in Stockbridge, MA, generously donated by the store’s owner, Teresa O’Brient. The Globe Autumn 2012
Journalism students at the Great Barrington Waldorf High School studied interviewing techniques, news writing vs feature writing, layout and design and many other aspects of journalism in their Journalism Elective class.
The fall issue of the student newsletter, The Globe, includes stories about the seniors’ trip to Hermit Island, orientation at Camp Hi-Rock, a creative writing contest (with a prize offered!), and a welcome to a few of the new teachers this year.

Waldorfians Take Manhattan

The train began to slowly make its way out of Wassaic Station and the adventure began. On October 27, the GBWHS students went on a field trip to New York City. All the students in the school, including the German visiting students, took the train from Wassaic into Grand Central for a day of festivities. [Read more…]
