Ninth Graders recently extended their work with metals from steel into copper and bronze. Copper and bronze work developed earlier in history, but, as the students found, are harder to work than iron. Because they are softer and melt at lower temperatures, it is easier in working them to burn, melt, or disfigure them.
The bowls shown are each one of a set of two identical bowls that each student made. The bronze knife was a project for an ancient history seminar.
