Phyllis Kornfeld is the author of Cellblock Visions: Prion Art in America, published by Princeton University Press. Her presentation is about the art made in prison and the incarcerated men and women who create it. For 32 years she has been working with people confined in correctional institutions around the country-all security levels, from county jail to death row. The incarcerated people come fully alive through this presentation and prove that the potential for good and the potential for evil exist in all of us. Kornfeld has published essays and articles, and lectures widely. She is the founder of several public projects whereby prison artists donate their artwork to benefit people in need.
