Soccer Season Ends at BWHS-Go Team!

(Click for larger image)
Soccer season is over! Congratulations on some fine playing, great sportsmanship, and consistently good weather! BWHS fields competitive teams for two seasons of the year: Soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter, playing against local private schools, Simon’s Rock College, and homeschool teams. Also offered are spring sports, depending on student interest: tennis, lacrosse, baseball, or softball. Teams practice 3 times per week after school and play several games per season. The home soccer field is the Park Street Field in Stockbridge and the home basketball court is at the Stockbridge Town Hall. The school is also a member of the MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) so or students can co-op with public school teams. Other co-op agreements are also possible, based on student interest and availability.

In addition to team sports, we offer a golf elective in fall and spring. Next sports program begins in January when the school closes at noon on Tuesdays so the whole high school can ski at Butternut.

German visitors

Eleven German high school students and two teachers (here with their hosts from our school, on Halloween) from Gabrieli Gymnasium Eichstaett (which our students visited last year) leave this weekend. They stayed for a 2 week visit that included classes with our students and trips to the Clark Art Institute, Mass MOCA, and Boston and New York. It was great to have them with us, and we’ll see them again in 2026 when our German language students travel abroad again.
