Drama & Music

Our Town production by Berkshire Waldorf High School

We are the only independent school to participate in Shakespeare & Company’s Fall Festival of Shakespeare; approximately 60% of our students take part each year. We produce a play every spring as guests of the Berkshire Theatre Group. Past plays have included Audience, Blithe Spirit, Harvey, Henry IV—Part I, The Importance of Being Earnest, Our Town, Saint Joan, The Skin of Our Teeth, The Taming of the Shrew, The Tempest, Uncle Vanya, and A Winter’s Tale.

All students in our school participate in all courses and activities, including Chorus. Student initiatives result in one additional ensemble and/or elective annually; these have included Composition, Jazz Ensemble, and String Quartet.  The Chorus sings at school assemblies. Twice annually, we have a Chorus concert at which students choose to perform vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles. Graduates have successfully prepared for admission to conservatory programs of note.
