Senior Profiles • Class of 2022

János Bánóczi-Ruof will attend Rochester Institute of Technology next fall to study engineering. This spring, he traveled to Dresden, Berlin, and Prague with our school group. Last year, he interned with Berkshire Bike and Board and also built his own computer.

River Beslow will attend Bennington College next year. This spring, River opened a pop-up shop at “What A Gift,” selling hand-made wire-wrapped jewelry, also available on Etsy @wiredriver. Last year, River completed botany research and a journal with the guidance of Elizabeth Orenstein.

Landon Curletti plans to take a gap year next year to work. He plans eventually to become a history teacher. This spring, he traveled to Dresden, Berlin, and Prague with our school group. Last year, he completed a project on the ancient history of the Amazon basin.

Iris Gudeon will attend the Center for Cartoon Studies next fall. This spring, mentored by Julia Gootzeit, Iris wrote and illustrated a story about her little sister. Last year, she wrote and illustrated a story about a toad-man.

Micah Kanz will attend University of Alaska, Fairbanks, next year. This spring, he traveled to Dresden, Berlin, and Prague with our school group. Last year, he refurbished a boat engine and built a handmade wooden kayak.

Isaac LeBlanc will attend Rochester Institute of Technology next fall to study engineering. This spring he traveled with our school group to Costa Rica. Last year, he interned in classic car restoration at Donovan Motorcar Service in Lenox with Brian Donovan and Dean Forsman.

Zoe Miller will attend Sarah Lawrence College in the fall. This spring, she interned with Judy Sprague at White Horse Hill stables. She joined the Class of 2022 for senior year.

Ellie Pow will take a gap year next year. She plans eventually to study psychiatric nursing. This spring she worked on a polymer clay project with Elizabeth Orenstein. Last year, she completed an acrylic painting project.

Faye Ross will attend Berkshire Community College in the fall. This year she interned in a forest kindergarten through Flying Deer Nature Center at Bartholomew’s Cobble with Asher Landes. Last year she studied Mandarin and the history and culture of China.

Soka Vanegas will attend Colorado College in the fall. This spring, she traveled to Dresden, Berlin, and Prague with our school group. Last year, she completed a project in psychology and photography, guided by photographer Amy Inglis, focusing on the stories our hands tell.

Maple Webster-Ben David will attend Ithaca College next year, and plans to major in speech pathology and audiology. This year, Maple interned as a first-responder trainee and volunteer with New Marlborough Fire and Rescue. Last year they completed a four-part project in communication sciences, focusing on speech pathology and audiology.

Other schools admitting our students this year: Alaska Pacific University, Bard College, Benedictine College, Connecticut College, Fort Lewis College, Hampshire College, John Jay College, MassArt, Queens University, SUNY Purchase (2), Syracuse University, UMass, Amherst (3), University of Connecticut, University of New Hampshire, Whitman College.
