My colleagues and I teach at our school for a number of reasons. Among these: Assisting our students is inspiring (and often amusing). We love teaching them as they develop, change, and grow through the grades of high school, becoming themselves. Teaching at our school, even during the stresses of the past couple of years, is joyous, meaningful, creative work. Our students leave us as self-confident, individually talented young adults. One measure, not the only one: More than 8 of 10 are offered admission to their first choice of college, and they get into 90% of the schools to which they apply, year after year.
The message of this note is simple: Will you express gratitude to the teachers and to the school with a gift, small or large, to help us achieve 100% giving from our families, friends, and board members? (If you contributed to our fall appeal, thank you! Please consider an additional donation if you are able.)
As you may know, tuition covers only a portion of the cost to keep the school going. We keep fixed costs as low as possible, and we return more than any school of which I’m aware directly to the education of our students.
Can you afford $20? Or $50? These donations will purchase art or lab supplies. $100? Fills the van with gas for away games and field trips. $500 supplies software for a year to support math classes. $1000 helps us offer courses like ceramics or blacksmithing. $2500 pays for a visiting seminar teacher. $5000 supports the cost of the spring play. And a gift of $10,000 or more will help pay teachers’ salaries, administrative costs, or add to our building fund.
Many thanks for your trust and confidence in our school, and for your support of our students’ education. Please give as generously as you can.
Sincerely,
Executive Director & Faculty Chair, Alumni Parent
