Out of the four sports offered at Berkshire Waldorf High School, soccer has always been the school’s pride. From 2011-2015 the soccer team was the best in school history. During this span of time, the team was led by Kosta Koufis, who went on to play soccer in college. Fast Forward 6 years to the year 2021, the Waldorf soccer team is not what it used to be, but with a fresh crop of young athletes in the school, the soccer team has a lot of potential for the future. The future is bright for the Waldorf soccer team. Freshman Liam Heller led the team with 2 goals and was a dominating force for the team in the two games that they played.
The BWHS soccer team is only losing two seniors this year, Isaac LeBlanc and Soka Vengas. Soka was the team’s best defender so losing her is going to be a significant loss for the team next year.
2022 will be Kevin Krum, Gabe Lassor, and Wyeth Curtis’s last year. This trio will be a significant loss for the team if no talented players join the school in the next year.
The future is looking bright for the BWHS and hopefully one day the team will be as good or even better then the teams of 2011-2015.
