Come see a collection of original photographs by the students of Berkshire Waldorf High School.
These pieces were created for a Creative Composition Through Photography course with art teacher Dr. Genève Brossard. They will be on display at the Stockbridge Library through the month of March.
We invite you to join us for a reception on Tuesday, March 19th, at 4:30pm at the Stockbridge Library. Refreshments will be served. See you there!
“The photographs in this exhibit are from an elective art class, one that focused on fieldwork rather than the darkroom or more technical methods of digital photography. Most photographs were taken with phone cameras. Each day, the students were given an assignment designed to guide them in the exploration of a specific formal element of photography–light, framing, narrative, subject, color, perspective, and many other components.
“The overarching artistic challenge, or idea, was to reveal something new about our subjects, to show what cannot be seen.”
-Dr. Genève Brossard
“If I knew what the picture was going to be like I wouldn’t take it. The challenge is more about trying to make what you can’t think of.”
-Cindy Sherman, American artist
