During a glorious week in early May, the students of Berkshire Waldorf High School experienced their annual “mini-block.” The sophomores worked on farming and gardening with Greenagers. If you’re not aware of the wonderful work of “Greenagers,” it’s a program that engages teens and young adults in meaningful work in environmental conservation, sustainable farming, and natural resource management.
Trail crews maintain existing trails and build new trails for local, regional, and national conservation organizations. The Farm and Food Justice Team stewards April Hill Farm (which is where the BHWS sophomores were mainly situated) and works with local farmers, learning animal husbandry and organic agriculture.
